FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question:
I'm interested in sponsoring a child through your "Every Child Matters" programme. Can you please explain what's involved in the process?

Answer:
You can express your interest in the sponsorship programme by choosing "Child Sponsorship Programme" under the "Choice of Sponsorship" section of the I CARE Sponsorship Response Form. Once your response form has been processed, we will get in touch with you through the contact numbers indicated in your form. Upon commencement of the sponsorship, you will be provided with a profile of your sponsored child including the child's photo. Sponsorship commitment is for a year, at US$30 per month, with a renewable tenure. You will also receive a half-yearly report of the child's progress.

Question:
How can I keep in touch with my sponsored child?

Answer:
Other than the half-yearly report that you will receive of your sponsored child, you are encouraged to write to him/her. We can help with translation should you wish to write to your child.

Question:
Are there specific groupings for the Group or Joint Sponsorship?

Answer:
The groupings are flexible, depending on your preference. For example, you could join as a family, work group or interest group, etc. For administrative efficiency, all payments, etc. should be made through one account.

Question:
Do you have a monitoring system in place to ensure that money given for the respective sponsorship programmes/projects actually go to the work intended to benefit the people in need?

Answer:
Our China based workers directly oversee the various sponsorship programmes/projects to ensure that these are carried out according to plan. Receipts for all purchases of equipment, materials, etc. are requested.

My organization is interested in involving our staff in the work that I CARE is doing. Can we organise talks for I CARE Reps to come and share with us?

Answer:
